Acetylene black is obtained from calcium carbide or naphtha (crude gasoline) pyrolysis byproduct gas decomposition refining acetylene purity of more than 99%, after continuous pyrolysis of carbon black. After the temperature inside the reactor is raised to 800℃ above the initial temperature of acetylene decomposition, the acetylene is introduced for thermal decomposition. Because of the exothermic reaction, the reaction can be automatic. In order to obtain a stable mass, the reaction temperature should be kept at about 1800℃. The temperature in the furnace can be controlled by the water cooling jacket of the outer cylinder of the reactor. Acetylene carbon black is used as anode material for manganese dry batteries together with manganese dioxide and electrolyte. Compared with furnace carbon black, its crystallization and secondary structure are more developed, so its electrical conductivity and liquid absorption are better. Due to less impurities such as heavy metals, the loss caused by self-discharge is small and the storage performance is better. Acetylene black almost occupies the entire market in this field. It can be predicted that the demand for dry batteries will continue in the future.
